Member Education Plan

During, or after, completing your Staff Education Plan, you will need to give some thought and planning to determining a plan for educating the Agents and Brokers in your MLS/Association's membership.  This member education plan may be done solely by your MLS/Association, by Point2 solely, or it may include a combination of the two organizations working together.

This Education Plan is designed to assist you in pinpointing the specific resources and education that should be communicated to your membership to aid in their understanding, acceptance, and adoption of your MLS/Association's decision to use Point2 Agent syndication.  It will also help you pinpoint which aspects you feel comfortable covering yourself, and where you may need the assistance of the Point2 Education Team.

Feel free to use this general Member Education Plan, change it, add to it, or remove from it, so that it fits your membership's needs and your educational style.

If you have any comments, suggestions, or need assistance locating a resource, you have the Point2 Education Team and your Point2 contact, Tanya Spilchak, at your disposal.

"The task of the excellent teacher is to stimulate 'apparently ordinary' people to unusual effort.  The tough problem is not in identifying winners: it is in making winners out of ordinary people." ~ K. Patricia Cross

1. Understanding the Point2 Syndication Launch

    Agent and Broker Communication

  • Prior to launching with Point2 Syndication, your MLS/Association will be marketing to all Brokers and Agents regarding the upcoming syndication, in an effort to educate them as to what will be happening and in what timeframe.

  • Copies of the emails are located here.  Keep in mind that the content may change slightly to align with your membership and their needs, although the foundational ideas will remain consistent.

   Point2 Syndication

  • You may receive questions regarding what syndication is and how it will help your Agents and Brokers list and/or sell properties.  As a full understanding of syndication is essential for your members, there are a number of resources that you can share with them:

2. Syndication Dashboards

   Getting Started Guides

  • The steps to creating a Syndication Dashboard, choosing syndication settings, and accessing reports can all be found in our Getting Started Guides.

  • The Getting Started Guides also contain instructions on how to link a Syndication Dashboard to an existing Point2 Agent account and Online Office, so that listings can be auto-populated on member sites, which means no more manual entry of listings!

    Education Session and Video

  • Taking the Getting Started Guide to the next level, Point2 also offers a live online Education Session and accompanying Training Video, where we cover the following:

    • Syndication overview
    • Marketing leading up to the launch of the Syndication Dashboards
    • Creating a Syndication Dashboard
    • Setting Syndication Partners
    • Reports
    • Receiving leads
    • Syndication Dashboards vs. Point2 Agent accounts - what's the difference?

3. Point2 Agent Accounts and Online Offices

What is the difference between a Point2 Agent Account and a Syndication Dashboard?

  • A Point2 Agent account is an upgrade from the Syndication Dashboard that provides more online marketing, lead generation, and analytical information.

  • Pricing, a comparison grid, and visuals are located on the Education website.  Printable documents are also available.

  • If a member already has a Point2 Agent Account and wants their listings to be automatically updated in their Online Office, they will need to link their Syndication Dashboard to their current Point2 Agent Account.  Full instructions are located in the Getting Started Guides.

    Getting Started Guides

  • Much like the Syndication Dashboard Getting Started Guides, there are Guides specific to the Point2 Agent accounts for both Brokers and Agents.

  • These Getting Started Guides also reference a number of other educational resources, such as the User Manual and Training Videos.

    Education Sessions

  • There are a number of Education Sessions your members can attend to learn the capabilities and benefits of upgrading to a Point2 Agent Account.

  • The Education Sessions are divided into key topics of interest, which then provide beginner, intermediate, and advanced topics for discussion.  Registration is required, although the Education Sessions are complimentary.

   Resources

  • There are a number of resources that are at your members' disposal when learning and working on their Point2 Agent accounts:

    • User Manual - textual instructions on how to use all of the capabilities of a Point2 Agent account.

    • Training Videos - audio/visual version of the User Manual, plus a few extra tips and tricks.

    • Blog - regular updates, tips, tricks, and insights are provided.

  • There are also experienced and authorized vendors within the Alliance Member Program (AMP)

4. Resources for the Future
