How is IDX different than Handshake?

  • IDX will display all of the listings in the MLS system.
  • Handshake will display your listings and the listings of the Agents and Brokers you Handshake with currently.
  • Both can be put on a website, although they are separate modules, as they are represented and operated differently.

My MLS/Association offers a free IDX to me.  What is the difference between theirs and yours?

  • IDX searches provided by MLS/Associations do provide the data and often a basic property search feature.
  • If you are wanting to provide your online visitors with enhanced search tools, further information in the form of local amenities, and the option to create a profile on your website to save their searches, investing in an upgraded IDX solution will not only give you these tools, but also help convert more online visitors into leads.

How does using IDX increase the number of leads I receive?

  • Online visitors will now be able to go to your website and have access to all of the listings in the MLS system.  This provides them access to view and read about more properties.
  • As well, the visitor's search results will now be expanded to cover all of the listings, yielding more results for their specific needs, and increasing the potential of them contacting you about their search results.
  • Since you pay for the IDX solution and provide it on your website, all of the results and listings provide your contact information.  This means that you are the point of contact for all of their questions and interest!

How does using IDX make me money?

  • By providing more listings and information on your website, online visitors will be able to search through all of the available properties in one location.
  • These online visitors will also be prompted to contact you directly with any questions they may have or if they want to book a viewing.
  • This prospect information is then provided to you, so that you can follow-up and turn the lead into a sale!

You say "integrated IDX".  How does the IDX integrate with my Point2 Agent website?

  • Your Point2 Agent website not only displays your IDX solution on a specialized page, but also provides you with specific prospect information.
  • The prospect's search results will be sent to you via email.
  • The prospect's name and contact information will be tracked in the prospect management section of your Online Office.  You can then email them, add them to Prospect Groups, put them on Drip Email campaigns, and more.

Can I put my IDX solution on websites that aren't provided by Point2 Agent?

How do I switch from my current IDX provider to the Point2 IDX?

  • If your current provider has a prospect management area, it is recommended that you download or export those prospects into a CSV file, so that you can upload it to your Online Office and retain these prospects for the future.
  • You will need to terminate the contract you have with your current provider, so it is advised that you review the terms and conditions of giving notice.  This will ensure a smooth transition.
  • Once you are ready for your new IDX solution, you can then purchase it from Point2.

Does it cost anything to switch from current provider and go to Point2 IDX?

  • You will need to check with your current IDX provider to see if there are any fees associated with terminating your current contract.  The majority of providers do not have a cancellation fee.
  • Currently, Point2 is waiving the set-up fee for the IDX provided through us, so there will be no cost to switching over to the new IDX option!

What is the difference between "IDX" and "IDX with MapTracks"?

  • IDX gives online visitors search tools they can use to find properties with specific features.  These results are then provided to the online visitors in listing descriptions.
  • IDX with MapTracks provides not only the search tools and results, but does so through the usage of a map.  Visitors will be able to see a map with indicators as to where the properties are located, as well as school districts, bodies of water, local amenities, etc.
  • Agents and Brokers with MapTracks have enjoyed 25% more leads than those using just the IDX form search.

What is MapTracks?

  • MapTracks takes your IDX search to another level by providing your online visitors with an interactive map!
  • Properties for sale that meet the search criteria are indicated on the map, including pop-up boxes of further listing information.
  • Visitors can also zoom and pan through the map to see local features like school districts, bodies of water, etc.

Who provides the maps as part of MapTracks?

  • The maps shown are provided my MapQuest.
  • MapQuest guarantees the uptime of their maps and does not display advertising on them, ensuring that your online visitors are focused on your website and the listings.
  • Online visitors can zoom in or out of the map, take a look at local amenities like schools, parks, restaurants, etc.

What is the purpose of having the map?

  • Studies show that the majority of us are visual learners, so showing the city map with indicators of properties for sale is very engaging.
  • Plus, since the map is interactive, online visitors can also see amenities and determine the distance to work, school, etc.

What is the map's starting position?

  • The map's starting position is determined by you in the admin console.

What listing information is shown?

  • Search results provide the basics of the listing: location, price, photo, and specifics from the search (for instance, number of bedrooms or bathrooms).
  • Full listing information is displayed once the online visitor chooses to view the specifics of the property.
  • All information being displayed is pulled directly from your MLS system.  Updates and changes to the property should be done in the MLS system.

Do I have to manually enter that information?

  • No.  The information displayed for the listings provided through your IDX solution is pulled directly from your MLS system.

  • Online visitors will be encouraged to contact you with any questions they may have or to view the property.
