Top 5 Support Questions for the week: May 16th - 22nd

The top 5 questions that our Customer Care team has received this week are:

  1. Why am I unable to edit my listings that were imported from my MLS?
Any listings that are imported into your Point2 Agent Online Office from your Syndication Dashboard cannot be edited within the Online Office. You will want to make any changes to the listing at the MLS's end. Once it is changed and updated by the MLS, please allow 24 hours for the change to go through to your Online Office and your website.

  2. I have changed companies, How do I reflect this on my Account?
If you have changed brokerages or affiliations, there are a few changes that you will nee to make within your Online Office.  First, you need to change the actual affiliation, view the instructions on the Point2 Agent User Manual.  Next, you will need to update your new information in the Office account, view the instructions on the Point2 Agent User Manual.  Then, you'll need to edit your User Profile, Point2 Agent User Manual.  Also, be sure to check your website header graphic, the website title and slogan, disclaimer, and any website content that may contain outdated company information.

  3. How do I add HTML content to my website?
Any HTML code should be added using an Advanced Content section. When you are editing your site, select the +Add Content link and then click on "Add to Page" next to the Advance Content. You'll be asked to enter your title and alignment, then click Next. You'll be taken to a blank section; this is where you will paste your HTML code.

  4. What should I do if my domain name has expired?
Since you will not be able to access your website using your domain name if it has expired, you will need to access the login page directly by going to http://office.point2.com/.  Once you have logged in, you can renew your domain name under the Domains and Email tab>> Manage Domains.

If your domain name was not purchased through P2, and you are unsure of your registrar, you can search for your domain name on a public "WhoIs" search like http://www.who.is/.  This will tell you who your domain registrar is, and who you should contact in order to renew the domain.

Please keep in mind that once your domain name expires, you receive an 18 day Grace Period in which you can renew your domain name without any additional fees.  After that 18 day period has passed, you will be required to pay the domain renewal fee, as well as an $80 redemption fee to renew your domain.  (this charge is universal throughout the web and is not specific to Point2 purchased domain names.

  5. I want to create a Handshake agreement with an colleague of mine, however the agent isn't showing in my pending list, how do I create a Handshake agreement with this agent?
The most likely reason that you are unable to create a handshake agreement with another agent is that you don't share the same selling area's.  You are only permitted to create Handshake agreements with agents who share a Selling Area with you.  If you perform a search for the agent, the system will indicate to you what the other agents Handshake status is, and you are then given the option to edit your current Selling Areas.  This can be done under your Community tab, roll your mouse over Handshake, then click on Search Handshake Partners.
