Top 5 Support Questions of the week: May 23rd - 29th

The top 5 questions that our Customer Care team has received this week are:

  1. People are trying to send emails to my Point2 Agent forwarding account, but they are receiving bounce back messages that indicate the message could not be delivered, why is that?
    This can occur as a result of your webmail accounts spam folder reaching the maximum size.  Forwarding accounts are heavily filtered for spam, and any emails flagged as spam are sent to the spam folder.  This folder may 'fill' your webmail account with out you even knowing, blocking any new messages from being sent to you.  We highly recommend that you login to your webmail account frequently to ensure that your spam folder doesn't reach the maximum size, and more importantly, that no legitimate email has been moved to this spam folder.  To access webmail, go to http://webmail.point2agent.com and use your email address and password to login.

  2. Why are my listings not Syndicating properly?
    There are a few reasons as to why your listings may not be syndicating to all of our partner sites as they should.  This week a lot of the issues were happening because the listings were actually being syndicated from other sources.  If your listing is syndicating from Point2, as well as from your Brokerage, there is a high possibility that the listing will be blocked altogether, or blocked from one of the 2 sources.  Usually the Brokerage feeds are taken over Point2’s, which means you will be unable to see any statistical information for those listings in your Point2 Online Office. 

    Our Suggestion:  Cancel any other syndication from other sources to ensure your listings are being syndicated from Point2, this way you can view all syndication statistics in regards to those listings.

  3. I am getting a message saying that my payment is failing, there are funds available on my credit card, why is this happening?
    Recently we have noticed more and more of this.  As some of you may or may not know, we are located in the Prairies of Saskatchewan, Canada.  A lot of these issues are arising because your bank or credit card provider has blocked international charges from going through on your card.  This is only done for your safety, as many of you know, there is a lot of credit card fraud out there these days.  In order to rectify this situation, give your credit card company or bank a call to let them know to allow any international charges from Point2 Technologies Inc.  If you feel uncomfortable updating your credit card information online, feel free to give us a call at 1-800-659-5494.

  4. Isn't there a way that I can set up my domain to renew automatically so that I don't get caught with an expired domain name?
    Yes! You can set your domain name up for auto renewal through your Point2 Agent Online Office, however if your domain was purchased through another company other than Point2, you would need to contact them in order to find out how to set this up. For members that have purchased their domain name through their Point2 Account, here’s how you can set it up for auto-renewal:

    - Login to your Online Office
    - Select the Domains and Email tab
    - Select Manage Domains
    - From under Domain Renewals, click on Manage Domain Auto-Renewal
    - Place a check mark in the box to the left of the domain name(s) you would like to select for Auto- Renewal
    - Use the drop down menu under Auto-Renewal Period to select the number of years you would like the renewal to be for
    - Click Add Credit Card and enter your credit card information (please note that we only take VISA or Mastercard), and then select 'OK' to save the information

  5. What is Website Standards Mode?
    Web Standards Mode allows you to set the proper website design document type on your primary website pages.  This setting allows your website more likely to look the same in every different browser.  Advanced CSS features such as fly-out menus work better in Web Standards Mode.  If you are unsure about using Web Standards Mode, give it a try and review your website to ensure it looks correct.  You can always choose not to use this mode at any time. 

    To turn Web Standards Mode on or Off:

    - Log in to your Online Office and go to Edit Website.
    - Hover over the Website Editing Tools tab and click Web Standards Mode.
    - Check or uncheck the box Use Web Standards Mode (recommended) to turn this feature on or off.
    - Click OK to save your settings.
