SEO tips
Hi everyone!
So here it is, the second installment of the SEO series. I've decided that instead of posting everything I know about SEO in a three part series, I'd make ongoing installments that are a bit more digestible. If you haven't read the first article, you can read it on the Education blog.
With the Point2 Agent Professional membership, you are able to create a Google Sitemap with your website. A Google Sitemap is like a road map of your website, and Google is able to easily navigate this map to index your web pages.
In addition, the sitemap on your website will notify Google with any changes made to your website, like every time you edit your website, enter a listing, or update your profile. This in turn prompts (but doesn't necessarily guarantee) Google to index your website more frequently, therefore getting your updated content visible in searches faster.
What are the Point2 Agent Generated Pages?
You'll notice on your Point2 Agent website there are 3 links in the footer (bottom of your template) titled ‘Links', ‘Sitemap ‘ and ‘For Agents'. These are pages that have been created by Point2 for SEO purposes.
- The Links page contains 50 links to other Point2 websites in your area. These are system generated links that are frequently updated. In turn, your website URL also appears on the Links page of 50 Point2 websites. As previously mentioned in the first installment of this SEO series, linking is very important when it comes to SEO, and this links system is there to help out.
- The Sitemaps page contains every page link on your website. The Sitemap assists search engines with indexing your site, and adds additional internal links which provide SEO benefit.
- You want to provide your online visitors with as much information as you can, and as many listings as possible, right? In order to gain maximum listing inventory on your website, you'll want to participate in Handshake. The more Agents in your area that have a Point2 Agent account, the more listings you can potentially advertise on your website. The For Agents page allows other real estate agents who are looking at your site to sign up for their own account, where they can then enter listings, and advertise those listings on your website. Not only are you benefiting from displaying a large inventory of listings on your website, but your listings are being advertised on many more websites. Of course, the more real estate professionals that use Point2 Agent, the happier we are too! It's a win-win situation

We'll leave it at this for now, but rest assured there much more to come. If you have any questions, or have something that you'd like to add to the points I've covered so far, your input is welcome!
Have a great Day
