Drive Traffic to Your Website - Advertise Your Website Address!
Over the weekend, I was able to get away on a road trip to a neighboring province, and while I found a lot of great deals and interesting people, what caught my attention the most was the real estate advertising that included website addresses.
Or, should I say, the lack thereof?
Now, maybe I am wired to look for such things, to search for how real estate professionals and our members market themselves and their Point2 Agent websites. Maybe I am used to being inundated with the advertising here in Saskatoon, where our members have various signs, vehicle wraps, bus shelters, benches, etc. all advertising their services and their websites. Maybe this is not the norm...leading me to wonder why, especially since the top question the Education Team gets on a regular basis is "how do I get people to my website".
Consider your business card. When you meet people, what is one of the key things that you do? Of course - give them a business card! This is what they'll keep in their wallet and reference in the future. This is what they'll show to their family and friends who may need real estate assistance. This is how you market yourself.
Think of your website as your virtual business card. Your domain and website address is how clients can find you on the Internet. It is what they will write down or bookmark to find you again. It is what they will share with family and friends who are looking for real estate. With society's movement towards going online for everything, and research indicating that over 80% of buyers start their real estate searches online, chances are that is where they will find you first, before meeting you and receiving a paper business card.
How will people find you? I don't think I can stress this enough: put your website address on any marketing materials you produce. Whether it be listing brochures, business cards, signs, magnets, vehicle wraps, sign riders, mugs, hats, stationary, listing presentations, etc, etc, put your website address on it. When in doubt, put the website address on it. When talking to people, tell them your website address. When emailing clients, include your website address. When sleeping, mumble your website address. Okay, that might be going a tad to far...
Work towards having your name and website address interchangeable. I know some local agents here in Saskatoon that are like that, and they are seeing incredible success. Did you catch that? I slipped my website address in there! It can be that easy. :)
