Food for Thought: How to get started with your Point2 Agent Blog

If you've recently upgraded your Point2 Agent membership to the Pro level, you should consider using the Blog feature.  Not only is a blog a great way to let people know what's going on in your community and within the real estate industry, it's a great way to advertise your listings, and open houses. 

With the ability to create links to your website from your blog, you can drive traffic to your website, and turn your blog readers into leads.  The other major benefit to using a blog is SEO.  Search Engines love blogs, and tend to index them far more frequently than they do webpages.  The reason for this may be that the content on your blog is always being updated, and each post and photo can be tagged with keywords to help search engines index the content.

The benefits are numerous, create your Point2 Agent blog!

Create Your Blog

1. Login to your Online Office
2. Click the Create Blog link at the top of the page
1. The page will refresh with a notification indicating that the blogging platform is still in beta status, click yes to continue.
3. You will reach the blog Dashboard (Control Panel) where you will go to perform any blog related activities.

Choose your theme

1. While in the Blog Control Panel, Click on My Blogs, then from the Global Settings menu select 'Change how my Blog looks'
2. Use the Themes drop down menu to select the theme of your choice.
3. Click Save to commit

Choose your Default Post Settings

1. While in the Blog Control Panel, Click on My Blogs, then from the Global Settings menu select 'Default Post Settings'
2. Select the 'yes' or 'no' buttons beside each settings option.
3. Click Save to commit

Create your Photo Album(s)

Adding photo's to your post is slightly different than adding photo's to a webpage on your Point2 Agent website.  Rather than just browsing your computer for the file and placing it within the post, you actually have to add the images to a photo gallery first, then reference them from your blog posts. Creating Blog Posts

All of the information about posting to your blog can be found on the User Manual.  If you want to include a video on your blog, that can be done too! Instructions are here.
