Children Can Also Be Buyers
Tonight I have the pleasure of teaching a scrapbooking class to a group of young ladies who are around ten years of age. They are new to the hobby, but are excited to make a mini album for Father's Day (Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there!). Normally, my classes and groups consist of adults who are as obsessed with the hobby as I am. It had never occurred to me to set up a class for young adults.
In doing so, I was missing a key market.
The children of today are so much more ingrained in their parent's lives, society, and decision-making. Have you noticed the high percentage of schoolkids who are walking around with mobile phones and laptops lately? In my day, if I wanted to talk to someone, I walked up to them on the playground! (Now I sound like my Dad!). This evolution has created children who have a large influence on their families and the decisions that are made. Chances are, your buyers have children who will be instrumental in determining which property becomes the new family home.
Finding out what the children are thinking and feeling could save a lot of time.
Since parents tend to want to make their children happy, their decisions will be based on what their children not only need, but want, in a home. Are the children hoping for a pool? Do they want to have a big backyard so that one day they can have a dog? Is there a fear of heights that will prevent them from wanting to be in a two-storey house? What sort of neighborhood are they hoping to live in after the move?
Answers to these types of questions can help you determine property options that will meet everyone's needs, saving you a lot of time and effort. Plus, the parents will be impressed that you care enough to ask. A home is a home when the entire family is happy.
Now I'm off to be creative with a group of very excited new scrapbookers!
